Paris Fashion Week: Stella McCartney Spring 2010

I've seen so many pantsuits gone wrong, but when I saw Stella McCartney's take on the pantsuit, I couldn't get enough. The collection was filled with basics such as pants, blazers, tanks, and dresses-but they were far from boring. The playful ruffled and pleated dresses, long boyfriend blazers, romantic lacey tops, and loose-fitted trousers are perfect for the sophisticated woman. McCartney's collection proves that a woman doesn't need to dress over-the-top to be fashionable.

Paris Fashion Week: Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010

The masters of avant-garde were also masters of illusion on the Paris runway. Gowns were literally cut apart to reflect the current consumer who is cutting back due to the current economic situation. The dresses and ball gowns were made from voluminous tulle with exquisite ruffling detail. Although the collection is more innovative and artistic rather than wearable as a whole, I really appreciate the conception and the elaborate workmanship. The colors were fresh, ranging from teal to soft pink and lavender. I can't wait to see these in the pages of Vogue (hopefully)!

Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Spring 2010

I would have never thought to see Chanel presented in a barn setting, but Karl Lagerfeld can do anything and make it work. Lagerfeld channeled Marie Antoinette's farm house and presented his Spring 2010 collection with frilly feminine frocks, bright vibrant colors, and of course, the signature tweed pieces. The outfits were styled with clogs, jeweled headbands and drippy necklaces. My favorite outfit was the first picture below; it's not as fancy as the others, but I'm loving the pants, the jacket, and the chain belt.

Paris Fashion Week Fall 2009: Louis Vuitton

The Louis Vuitton show was by far my favorite show during Paris Fashion week. Creative Director Marc Jacobs delivered a flawless collection with puffed sleeves, voluminous skirts, and endless amounts of pleats, ruffles, and draping. The line veered away from all black and encompassed various colors such as green, plum, red, yellow, and pink. According to Jacobs, the line was inspired by "sophisticated Parisiennes who blend classiness and playful sensuality in just the right doses." Belted waists, chain necklaces, and the signature monogramed bags were great accessories to the collection as well. To view the Louis Vuitton collection, click here.
