The High Life

I am very simple with my makeup; in fact, it never takes me more than 10 minutes to put it all on. However, I always felt that my makeup could use that extra "umph." I mean, what more could you do with simple foundation and powder? 

When Benefit Cosmetics gave me a gift bag, I was a little perplexed to see a bottle entitled "High Beam." I had absolutely no clue what it was. "Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheekbones and brow bones for a radiant glow. It's known as the 'supermodel in a bottle!' " it read. I was afraid that my face would just be a shiny mess. However, with just a little dab on the cheeks, my face looks dewy and fresh.

I attended a San Francisco Style and Beauty event, which was hosted by Shop It To Me (in which I am a trendsetter for their website!), Benefit Cosmetics, and Meghan Donovan of  Wit and Whimsy. I met many great San Francisco based bloggers and writers and chatted about the best things: fashion and style! I had a great time and the gifts from Benefits Cosmetics added icing to the evening.

I wore a cobalt blue scoop neck, dolman sleeved dress with my gray suede Stuart Weitzman shoes and leather jacket. The dress was only $10.80 and you can wear it in so many different ways--versatility is key! I've worn it with a belt to give it more structure or nix the belt and have one sleeve fall down my shoulder. I added a subtle gold multi-layered necklace by Claudia Gill. It's so lightweight and simple, but it really adds that perfect touch.

Tips on Finding the Right Eyebrow Shape for You

I was reading this article on teenvogue.com about finding the perfect eyebrow shape for your particular face shape. Should you go with full brows or thinner ones? I will admit that I have never really paid attention to my eyebrows. I just tweeze enough just to ensure that I don't look like a werewolf! But I have always envied those that had perfectly arched eyebrows. This article has inspired me to take better care of my brows. I think I will make a trip to the Benefits Cosmetics counter and get my eyebrows arched and shaped at their Brow Bar!
