Levi's at NYFW

Levi's presented its Fall 2012 collection last week at New York Fashion Week. I know I didn't cover any fashion shows, but I have to support my company! Here are some highlights from the show. My favorite look is image 7. I am loving those sleek black shorts with a simple sheer blouse. So simple, yet so perfect. What are your favorite looks?

Fillmore

It was yet again, another rainy, cold day in San Francisco and it got me wondering, "Will this rain ever stop!?" Nevertheless, I can't complain when I have an excuse to wear my Hunter boots. They are so comfortable and it gives me a nice break from heels. I went to dinner on Fillmore Street last night in Pacific Heights. I had some time beforehand, and we did a quick outfit post courtesy of my friend's boyfriend, who is a very patient photographer.  Nothing beats good food and good company--it definitely makes the work week go by faster. Burnt Orange

I've never really worn blouses, so when I saw this deep orange top at Anthropologie, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone. I did my usual "half tuck in, half blouse out" for a more casual, relaxed look, paired it with rolled Levi skinnies, and my favorite studded Nordstrom pumps. The red Marc by Marc Jacobs bag would have been a little too much color for me, so I brought out my brown, wrinkled Prada bag. I love that everytime I take it out, the leather smells like new car--and I've had it for over 5 years. I've realized that I have so many more purses that need to make their debut on this blog. Sail Away

I scored this light gray knit blazer from Anthropologie for only $30. How amazing is that? I love the gold buttons on the jacket and that it's not super structured and stiff. I felt like I was dressed for a yacht with my seersucker jeans; unfortunately  the sun wasn't shining on Monday and I felt my attire was not the most appropriate for the rainy weather. I wanted to add that extra pop of color, so I debuted my new red Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. I think the Louis Vuitton has been temporarily replaced with my new vibrant red bag--for the time being at least.

Studded Shapes

I was browsing my closet yesterday morning and found my whimsical navy blue top with pink geometric shapes. I remember when I first picked it up, I liked it because it was a nice departure from something I would normally wear. I even forgot that I had it--don't you hate it when that happens? I opted for my William Rast white jeans, tucked my top in and billowed it out a bit, and slapped on a yellow belt. I was scanning my endless pairs of shoes and found my studded Topshop booties that I bought when I was vacationing in New York last year. Since the weather was temperamental, I threw on my khaki anorak from Andrew Marc. Clearly my white jeans are screaming for it to be summer. Just another chilly San Francisco day.

Ready for Work?

I absolutely love the new Fall 2010 Levi's Go Forth Campaign, which is influenced by a small struggling town called Braddock, located in Pennsylvania. This campaign has a heritage, all-American, working class feel to it, and to me, it is all about going back to the classic Levi's brand. I've already had some questions from friends who have seen the ads splattered across the streets of San Francisco, but are unsure of what the direct message is. Below is an excerpt that Levi's shared with the public:

Amid today’s widespread need for revitalization and recovery, a new generation of “real workers” has emerged, those who see challenges around them and are inspired to drive positive, meaningful change.  This fall, with the introduction of Go Forth ‘Ready to Work’, the Levi’s^® brand will empower and inspire workers everywhere through Levi’s^® crafted product and stories of the new American worker.   Bolstered by its pioneering spirit and ‘Go Forth’ rallying cry, Levi’s^® will explore how a new generation of real American workers is rolling up their sleeves to make real change happen.

 The muse for Levi’s^® new campaign is Braddock, a town embodying the demise of the blue collar base that is taking radical steps to reverse its decay.  Braddock now faces a new frontier of repurpose and new work in what was once a flourishing industrial mecca.  Since 2001, John Fetterman, the mayor of Braddock, has taken his fight for social justice in Braddock to the masses by enlisting the help of modern pioneers – artists, craftsmen, musicians and business owners – to rebuild and revive the town.   As it rebuilds, Braddock has become a model for how any city, in any part of the country, can prevail as a symbol of hope and change.

Picture of the Day: Who Wears the Pants?

This is the main building at Levi's Plaza! Inside is our cafeteria and the archive room-which has jeans dating back to the 1800s. I have yet to visit this room, after all, it is only my second week here. They change the windows to reflect what's going on within the company...and they have a new Dockers campaign called "Wear the Pants" hence the signage. I'm in a little building across from this one, but they're in the process of eventually moving everyone into this big one. Sorry about all the Levi's posts, but it's so exciting to work here. There is so much going on, I can't help but share the news!

Genius Collaboration: Levi's and Opening Ceremony

Exciting news! Levi's and Opening Ceremony are joining forces and developing a line of men's and women's products which will debut at Levi.com, the flagship store in San Francisco, and Opening Ceremony stores. The collection is set to hit stores during New York Fashion Week next month. According to WWD, the line will feature corduroy jackets, pants, shirts, and shorts coming in 8 different colors in both women's and men's cuts. Can't wait to see it!
