Designer Esteban Cortazar of Emanuel Ungaro Out?

Because I am currently a fashion blogging intern for Emanuel Ungaro, naturally, this news is very interesting to me. Ungaro is known to be an "older" brand, and since 24-year old Esteban Cortazar became head designer for the company in 2007, the company has taken on a more youthful approach. Rumors have been swirling that Cortazar has left the company because of creative and marketing differences with the Ungaro team. If this is true, then I think I will be devastated. Paris Fashion Week Fall 2009: Emanuel Ungaro

Esteban Cortazar, the 24 year old designer for Emanuel Ungaro, showered the runway with whimsical prints, splashes of color such as pink and cobalt blue, and mini dresses galore. The collection was young, fresh, and exuded a "party-girl" vibe. Cortazar exhibited colorful polka dot patterns in blouses and dresses, and accented them with fuschia and bright blue tights, and chunky heels. Again, there was a lot of ruching, ruffles and intricate draping and it seems like these details are a big trend for the upcoming Fall season! Although it sounds like a hodgepodge of trends all at once, the collection was cohesive and it worked for me! Who says Fall is all about gray and black?
