Can I just say that I will totally wear these two dresses below if ever given the chance? I am in love (then again, when am I never in love with clothes?). The jewel tone colors, the crystal top, and the detailing on the bottom of the gowns are genius. Also, in the second to last picture, I'm digging the pleated shorts and knee high boots. What I would give to be tall. Can short people even pull off knee high boots? One can only hope...

Dries Van Noten Fall 2010 Men's
I know, I know, it's been over a week since my last post. I completely fail. Life has been really busy and I stopped reading up on fashion news and blogs. To be honest, I didn't even it was Haute Couture week until I stumbled upon it on google. Apparently, I am cut off from the fashion world. I promise to do better, once my life settles down and I get into a comfortable routine. I decided to post Dries Van Noten Men's Fall 2010 because 1. I never cover men's and 2. I have been obsessing over tan/camel colored things. I saw the tan peacoat and fell in love. Enjoy!

Drug of Choice: Blazers
Ok I seriously need to stop with the blazers, but I really can't help myself--they are like what t-shirts and jeans are to some people. I was in Vegas over the weekend, and made a stop at Urban Outfitters and found this ivory speckled tweed blazer by Silence & Noise on sale for $39.99. I can't wait to wear it...but I have to wear my gray boyfriend blazer that I got at Nordstrom Rack first. I'm itching to wear these with heels and a dress, but with this stormy weather, there is no way I'm going to risk it! For now, I'll wear it with my boots and deem it the "equestrian" look.

Viva Las Vegas!
I'm going to Las Vegas this weekend with my two bestest friends from college! I haven't seen them since last April, so we are having a reunion, and we're doing it big-Vegas style! I had to get a new dress, and I found this at Forever 21. I loved it because 1. it's only $22.80 2. It's shimmery, without being too Las Vegas showgirl and 3. the fit reminds me of the Herve Leger dresses-it's not that tight, but it's definitely a body-con dress. I'm just going to keep it simple and wear this with my plain black Gucci peep toe pumps and maybe just a huge cocktail ring. Viva Las Vegas!

Picture of the Day: Who Wears the Pants?
This is the main building at Levi's Plaza! Inside is our cafeteria and the archive room-which has jeans dating back to the 1800s. I have yet to visit this room, after all, it is only my second week here. They change the windows to reflect what's going on within the company...and they have a new Dockers campaign called "Wear the Pants" hence the signage. I'm in a little building across from this one, but they're in the process of eventually moving everyone into this big one. Sorry about all the Levi's posts, but it's so exciting to work here. There is so much going on, I can't help but share the news!

Exciting news! Levi's and Opening Ceremony are joining forces and developing a line of men's and women's products which will debut at Levi.com, the flagship store in San Francisco, and Opening Ceremony stores. The collection is set to hit stores during New York Fashion Week next month. According to WWD, the line will feature corduroy jackets, pants, shirts, and shorts coming in 8 different colors in both women's and men's cuts. Can't wait to see it!

DIY Project: Two is Always Better Than One
I have so many blogs to read everyday, and I admit that this past month has been so busy, that I have fallen behind-ridiculously behind. So I rely on my friends to give me the heads up on cool things that they read and to update me from time to time. My friend was reading Glamour.com and came across this GENIUS idea...and I mean genius....I'm banging my head against the wall and thinking "why didn't I think of that?"
The idea? Layering tights. I mean, we layer our tops, so why not our legs? Fishnets are simply bare for me, and they do not warm me up at all, so simply wear colored tights and layer patterned fishnets over them and voila! Instant glamour.

Cartier and America
Attention all San Franciscans! There is a Cartier retrospective exhibit at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, which is currently running until April 18 , 2010. The exhibit includes Princess Grace Kelly's jewels that she wore when she wed Prince Rainier of Monaco and pieces from the jeweler's private collection. I plan on taking my mom this Sunday, where we will spend the day lunching and ogling at all these beautiful gems. I hope I can take pictures, and will definitely post it here if I can! A Year in Review
This year has been very unexpected. I was unemployed for a total of 6 months, and was fortunate enough to finally find a job at Macys.com back in April. I learned so much at Macys and am so thankful to have been given the opportunity. It's hard to find a job in the retail industry, without any connection, and knowing that I've started to get my foot in the door without any help makes me realize that this is what I really want to do, and it's truly my passion. A new opportunity has come up, however, and I have decided to take a job with Levi Strauss & Co. in licensing which starts tomorrow. I am very excited to learn a new aspect of the apparel industry, and am looking forward to start a new job in this new year. I decided to include the collage below because October was probably the best month of the entire year; I got a chance to meet and interview Christian Siriano, Derek Lam, Yigal Azrouel, and The Sartorialist all within 2 weeks. I also threw Hubert Kellar in the mix, because who doesn't love him? I look back on 2009 with fond memories, and I hope 2010 is just as good to me. Have a great new year everyone!
My fashion wall is finally up!

What I Wore: Some Sparkle
I hope everyone had a great time sipping on champagne and ringing in the New Year with loved ones! My New Years was pretty low key-I just stayed in with family and had a small gathering at the house. New Years always means wearing some sparkle, so I decided to debut my jacket that I got at Forever 21. I love the black pyramid studs around the neckline and sleeves and the all around shimmer of the navy blue jacket. It's a little on the casual side, but it definitely adds that something extra to my boring pair of jeans and plain black tank. Happy New Years everyone!
