Into the Woods

I discovered this WeWood Watch (#3) during one of my tradeshow visits to Vegas and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Not only is it lightweight, but it's so eye-catching and unique, that it's currently on my "covet" list. On a recent trip to New York, a visit to Treasure & Bond in Soho added these Proof sunglasses (#6) to the list as well. I found myself starting to look up wood accessories, and thus, this trend board was born. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

Cape Crusader

If you have been following my Twitter or Facebook, then you know my top Fall must-have's are fur vests, colored trousers, and capes. The fur vest was checked off my list when I received a nice little package from Nordstrom the other day, so now, it's onto the search for the perfect cape. I have been wanting something other than a basic coat for a while, and a cape is the perfect alternative. Below are the ones I am currently eyeing (I'm considering #8). Pleats

The chambray shirt made an appearance, yet again, and this time, I decided to pair it with my coral pleated skirt. I used to be anti-pleats, but since I found a length that suited me and it was in my favorite color, there was no question that it would be the latest addition to my closet.

Vibrant Chills

I digged through my drawers and found this whimsical top I hadn't worn in a while. Don't know what brought me to pair it with my searsucker Levi's, but I thought it would work in a funky way. I anticipated the chilly weather and threw on a gray cardigan to take the outfit down a notch and create a more relaxed vibe.

Rick Rolled

I channeled my inner 80s child and busted out the lightwash Levi's denim shorts, a black racerback tank, and completed the look with my boyfriend blazer (also seen here). Since I was running all over the place, I nixed the heels for the day, and went for my jelly flats. How much more 80's can I get?

Weekend Snapshots

My weekend consisted of venturing to Dim Sum in the Richmond, a birthday celebration for a friend in North Beach, dinner at Range and Maverick in the Mission, and a quick stop to this hip boutique called Gravel & Gold. Food adventures and shopping--nothing beats that!

Palace

I bought this dress years ago, for my sorority initiation, to be exact, and haven't worn it since. There's someone about wearing a dress for specific occassions that turns me off from wearing it day to day. We are experiencing our summer right now, and I found this old thing tucked away in the back of my closet. I love how it has a drop waist, giving the illusion that I actually have a long torso (which I don't). I plan on wearing this on my trip to Mexico in November for one blissful week. The flowy eyelet skirt just screams, "ole!"

I wore this to my mom's birthday dinner at Michael Mina on Sunday, and the first thing that she said when she saw me? You are so shiny. I wore this skirt out in public once before and I was so self conscious by all the weird looks that I vowed to not wear it again. Well, fast forward 6 months later, and I found a very special occassion to wear it. You either love it or you hate it, and this skirt is back on my "love" list. The bold color from the blouse and the sequin skirt gave it a double punch. Obsessed. Special thanks to my new weekend photographer, who shall be known as the "cliche blogger's boyfriend."

Happy Monday! I feel rather refreshed as I had about 11 hours of sleep last night and a fairly low key weekend. I went to dinner at Umami Burger in the Marina, followed by a Foster the People concert on Friday night. Saturday was spent running errands, and Sunday night was spent lunching, shopping, and celebrating my mom's birthday at Michael Mina. Here are some pictures from my outfit from Friday. I bought this cheetah printed flowy top a while back, but was so terrified of wearing something so bold. I figured, what better opportunity to wear it than at a concert? Oh, and the last picture was my bacon-wrapped scallop burger from Umami Burger. Drool.

I am always so awkward and nervous when taking pictures in public settings, but I fulfilled my photog's wishes of taking these pics on the bleachers. Never mind the crazy man who was smoking a joint, and yelling at my shoes while these pictures were taken...just another day at the ballpark in the city. Happy Friday and have a fantastic weekend! 

Flutter

I spotted this fluttery kimono-esque lightweight jacket at Forever 21, and within seconds, it was in my hot little hands. I love the color blocking effect it has (orange interior, fuchsia exterior) and the movement of the fabric. I would have paired it with a plain black tank, but today, I was feeling a little adventurous and decided to add sparkle. Forever 21 has a ton of flowy cardigan/jackets and below are a few of my favorite options, with the center one being the one that I currently own. The best part? All under $25 each. Score.

I went on a little shopping excursion to Forever 21 and Zara over the weekend and found these gems. These cobalt shoes are not only comfortable, but definitely make a statement; and this fuschia top is exactly what I've been searching for--something professional and girly, yet stands out in its simplicity. My best accessory? My houndstooth umbrella.

Weekend Snapshots

My very dear friend Trista visited me over the weekend, and we literally ate our way through San Francisco. Meals at Bistro Aix, Starbelly, and The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen were delectable, followed by dessert at Citizen Cake, and Kara's Cupcakes, and we finished Sunday with tea and sandwiches at Crown and Crumpet. Great company. Great food.

Red Bricks

I decided to go all out Levi's and don the uniform around the Home Office. I have been on the lookout for the perfect shade of red pants, and these fit the mold. They are pinkish red and go perfect with the relaxed chambray shirt I've worn several times, including here. To add touches of my personal style, I put on a bib necklace, oversized rings, and I was ready to tackle Thursday. Can't wait for the weekend to begin! My bestie is visiting and we're going to paint San Francisco red (like my pants...no pun intended)!
