I love the olive green military jackets that I've been seeing everywhere. I scored one from my magical Levi's sample closet and have been wearing it with anything and everything. I am also currently obsessing over stripes. All I wear are stripes and I can't get enough. A simple striped shirt with the jacket, cuffed sleeves, a huge statement necklace, ultra skinnies with chunky boots and you're ready to combat the world.

Operation Desert Storm
Stella McCartney Fall 2010 |
Perusing through the latest edition of Harper's Bazaar and saw a section entitled: How to Wear Camel. I immediately thought of the several fall 2010 fashion shows from Michael Kors which featured all the textured camel-colored sweaters to the Chloe trench coats. Invest in a trench or blazer (since it will essentially go with everything) and pair it with either black pencil for a crisp look, or wear a camel sweater dress with brown leather slouchy boots for a more casual feel. Hopefully I will depart from my beloved black ensembles and embrace camel this fall.

Coming to America: ASOS
About a few weeks ago, my friend asked me if I have ever heard of Asos.com. I get pretty embarrassed when people ask me about fashion news and I look at them with a blank stare. In case you haven't noticed, I am behind on my retail knowledge. I just got my Lucky magazine in the mail and was flipping through it and saw a brief article on Asos. Now I was curious. I just browsed the website, and I really wish I was completely clueless about this website because now I think there will be some damage on my plastic--horrible, especially when you're trying to save money!
Asos.com is the UK's largest independent retailer, which features designer labels as well as their own private label--all at a pretty affordable cost. I can guarantee that I will spend countless hours searching for new clothes to add to my already limited closet space.

Dior Resort 2011
Galliano plays it up with a 1960s-esque theme filled with pink, ruffle, and cute lace trim. A complete departure from the Chanel Resort 2011 collection, yet still beautiful, feminine, and exhibits that true Galliano sex appeal.

Chanel Resort 2011
So I'm totally behind on fashion week posts. There are so many fashion shows, I simply can't keep up. Anyways, Chanel has always been one of my favorite brands and the 2011 Resort collection makes me want to vacation on a secluded beach in Europe with drink in hand.

Sporty Attire
Jacket: Armani Exchange
Tee: Target
Shorts: Zara
Turquoise Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Yesterday, I had guests over at the house for a casual lunch. After waking up at 7am and going to spin class early in the morning, I am exhausted and want nothing more than to be comfortable in whatever I'm wearing. I know I've been really into the "t-shirts and shorts" look (as boring as it is), but it's been my uniform for the moment. I decided to put this cool light pink/beige Armani Exchange sports jacket over the tee and I was set in my Sunday attire. Casual and Comfortable.
My favorite part of this jacket: the collar. It scrunches up all around |

Glitter in the Air
I was reading one of my favorite blogs: Cupcakes and Cashmere and saw Emily wear a sequined skirt from J.Crew. I immediately went to the J.Crew website, and was disappointed that 1. It was sold out and 2. It cost $275. I found 3 alternatives at all different price points:
The key to pulling off sequins in the daytime is to keep it simple. Keep the jewelry to a minimum, and wear neutral tops. Try a boyfriend blazer (clearly, my favorite staple) or a military jacket (if you're feeling adventurous) to balance out the shimmer.

Bulletproof
T-Shirt and Blazer: Target
Shorts/cocktail ring/aviators: Forever 21
Shoes: Elizabeth and James
I finally unpacked all my clothes from Vegas and threw them into the hamper--except for my beloved pair of jean shorts. I decided to give them a final run before they made their way into the laundry basket. I was kind of tired of the "t-shirt and shorts" look and jazzed it up with a black boyfriend blazer and my Elizabeth and James shoes which are my new faves of the moment. A little early 90s, but it worked for me.

The High Life
I am very simple with my makeup; in fact, it never takes me more than 10 minutes to put it all on. However, I always felt that my makeup could use that extra "umph." I mean, what more could you do with simple foundation and powder?

Cargo Overload
J Brand |
I was sitting at a Levi's meeting, in which the team was showing the Spring 11 line, and some bottoms featured were: cargo pants. I cringed at the thought of cargo pants only because I remember I used to wear masculine baggy (yes, baggy) ones during my middle school years. It is safe to say I wasn't a fashionable child--we all make mistakes right?! Well, the cargo pant has resurfaced and it has gotten a face life...a major one. I am officially a fan of all the different styles and silhouettes. I want the J Brand ones so bad (pictured above), but I can't justify to spend $231 on a pair of pants. In the meantime, I will just dream...

Bejeweled
A friend brought this website to my attention, and after browsing for a few minutes, I had to blog about it. Mayu Bijoux jewelry is all handcrafted, with inspirations from the "rich textures of the Eastern markets and the vibrant colors of Paris." Such beautiful pieces of jewelry. I wish I could buy them all.
