New York Fashion Week: Derek Lam Spring 2010

  • Bright colors and prints. Florals, stars, and polka dots peppered the runway, which was far from boring. This collection was a departure from his Fall 2009 collection in which the palette was very structured. In this Spring 2010 collection, it's hard to pinpoint a theme of colors, since everything seemed to be a "free for all."
  • The collection embodied a 1940s glam flair with little jackets, wrap dresses, and corseted tops
  • So nice to see a collection that doesn't have the typical colors that I've seen throughout the week-tan, beige, or white. My favorite look from the collection is the gold sequined skirt and dress. Nothing screams glamour more than that!
