I am off to Vegas today for the long Memorial Day weekend and I can't wait! I am a notorious over-packer, but I think I managed to pack everything I "needed" into one little suitcase. At least I'll have ten other girls to rely on for other essentials! I will be at the pool all weekend, working on a deep tan and lounging in all of my striped swimsuits. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Un-Block Me
I am a fan of so many blogs and am inspired on a daily basis. When I saw some posts here, here and here regarding colorblocking, I knew I had to take my stab at styling a look on polyvore. I decided to do one "day" look and one evening look, which is perfect for a dinner date. The shoes for the "day" look might scare some people, but I say, why not? Have fun with your outfits and add tons of bright colors to liven up your wardrobe!

Walking on a Dream
My brother and I before his graduation party Dress: Boutique in San Francisco Necklace: Forever 21 Watch: Michael Kors Shoes: Nordstrom |
As I noted in the previous post, I ventured off to Washington D.C. to celebrate my brother's college graduation. Although a lot of our activities circled around his graduation, I found myself with some down time to try out new foods, walk around the city, and enjoy the beautiful weather--all with my camera in tow. Below are some snapshots of my weekend.

Outfit Post: American Woman
Greetings! I just came back from Washington D.C. to celebrate my brother's graduation from Georgetown University (photo montage will follow tomorrow) and the weather was absolutely perfect. I was ecstatic that I was able to wear shorts and a thin top and the plus side was that I wasn't begging for a jacket, either! I landed Friday morning and immediately walked around to soak in what D.C. had to offer. Here are some snapshots below:

Orange
I've been inspired by all things "orange." It's such a bright citrusy color that is just oh-so delectable. I decided to create a set that reflected my love for the color and hope that brings you some brightness to your Friday. I will be in Washington D.C. this weekend, combating a combination of heat and potential thunderstorms. This is the start of my array of trips, where I will be playing jetsetter. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Charmed, I'm Sure
I know the statement necklace has been a trend for a while, and I don't see this going away any time soon. I simply can't get enough! I've searched high and low for a great piece that mirrors my style as well as my price range and although pretty much everything I've been ogling is over $200, I think I found it. I bid on this J.Crew necklace on Ebay (above), and won it for only $30! Hopefully the package itself is the same as the picture (cross fingers). I'm going to try to pair it with the J.Crew Belinda bustier dress seen here. The coral from the necklace will be a nice contrast to the muted teal dress. Meanwhile, here are some pictures of some necklaces I have been eyeing:

Fillmore
It was yet again, another rainy, cold day in San Francisco and it got me wondering, "Will this rain ever stop!?" Nevertheless, I can't complain when I have an excuse to wear my Hunter boots. They are so comfortable and it gives me a nice break from heels. I went to dinner on Fillmore Street last night in Pacific Heights. I had some time beforehand, and we did a quick outfit post courtesy of my friend's boyfriend, who is a very patient photographer. Nothing beats good food and good company--it definitely makes the work week go by faster. Happy Hump Day!
