Fab Trend: Headbands

Last year, I went through a headband fetish, but after cutting my hair short, I find it hard to sport a headband--but that doesn't mean my love for them has diminished! Recently, I went into Nordstroms and Forever 21 and noticed that the headband has gotten an updated look. I think this style has always existed, but I guess it's making a comeback! I saw a lot of bands with rhinestone embellishments (very 1920s/flapper-esque!), flowers, feathers, and large bows, to name a few. These types of details and adornments are usually found on the side of the headband, giving it a really girlie and fun appeal.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Gossip Girl and Blair Waldorf's ever-so-primp style. She wears a headband in almost every scene, if not episode! I love her eclectic pieces, specifically the one pictured above. Her headband by Susan Daniels retails for about $56, but you can definitely get the look for less here. The thing that I love about headbands is that they are so versatile and you can essentially wear them with anything. Just be careful about over-accessorizing. If you wear a statement headband like Blair's, I would definitely keep the jewelry to a minimum, or it would ruin the look. Try to stay away from chandelier earrings and avant garde necklaces and embrace the simple jewelry such as diamond or pearl studs. Embellished headbands will definitely glam up your outfit and surely turn heads!
