NY Fashion Week 2009: Barbie

As you already know, fashion week is under way! As promised (although a few days behind!), I am posting pictures from some of the shows that have been of interest to me. Of course, I am unable to cover all the shows, but after looking at a few collections from the past few days, I definitely have some favorites! Like I mentioned before, the Barbie runway show was held on Valentine's Day and it showcased 50 different outfits from various designers from Betsey Johnson to Vera Wang. Each designer designed an outfit inspired by Barbie and made it to their point of view. Some designers made formal gowns, where others opted for bathing suits and casual wear such as jeans and a top. Kenneth Cole's design was the only one who featured a Barbie and Ken outfit, which made his definitely stand out! I have posted some outfits below, but you can check out the rest of the designs here.

What do you think? Love it? Hate it? or Undecided? Comment below!

  1. I absolutely love the idea of Barbie on runway. This is relatable to every girl in the world! Barbie has shaped American lifestyle and fashion for so long and to finally see it revamped by designers is very nostalgic.
